Nice expansion. You'd already basically reviewed the sites, so I appreciate the extra effort. The Kotaku site is way beyond this non-gamer's geek-knowledge!

Destructoid is going on my reading list for sure. Engadget has been a regular stop for a long time. Too bad I work for an organization that doesn't pay in ways that lead to words like "disposable income" :)

I wanted to add that I think you are in one of the top 2-3 fields that exist right now. Despite all the turmoil and heartache that comes with media transformation, I can't imagine a more exciting time for this whole area, including the Gutenberg revolution (just because it was so much slower).

I highly recommend the Clay Shirky title "Here Comes Everyone" for you in particular!

There's definitely an important distinction between whether something or someone is journalism or a journalist for the sake of legal arguments and such and whether or not the source is valid, authoritative, reliable, etc. I'm a radical born an era too late-- I think the best thing about the "unreliability" of blogs is how much attention it has helped to bring to bear in understanding the "unreliability" of traditional media. The most important lessons are about being engaged, informed consumers of media and knowing how to apply pressure in the right places...

I generally agree with most of what you say here!

Microsoft has an HD-DVD drive you can buy for about $129 now that connects to the XBox 360. Sony's PS3 on the other hand has a built-in Blu-Ray reader... that also happens to play games I hear. :)

Hey Jeremy,
I wrote about this too- I was under the impression that the Xbox 360 had an HD-DVD drive built into the system? and that Microsoft was attempting to bank off selling the drives as "plug in to your HD-TV and watch" drives?
(also forgot to add the bit about pornography in, though I remember discussing it in Rob Prince's Digital Video Editing course last semester.

(nice graphic, you should check mine out, I'm rather proud of it and doubt anyone has so much as glimpsed it)
