Despite all the turmoil and heartache that comes with media transformation, I can't imagine a more exciting time for this whole area, including the Gutenberg revolution (just because it was so much slower). I highly recommend the Clay Shirky title "Here Comes Everyone" for you in particular! I wanted to add that I think you are in one of the top 2-3 fields that exist right now. The most important lessons are about being engaged, informed consumers of media and knowing how to apply pressure in the right places... I generally agree with most of what you say here!
